Rdio is a web service that lets you create playlists and listen to your favorite music. It can also be defined as a customizable radio, as it lets you discover and play only tracks that you like.
The Rdio application is identical to the Web-based interface, so there’s not much to say specifically about it. It’s easy-to-use, straightforward and neat, allowing even beginners to easily find their way while using it. It’s basically a simple player that also lets you check releases and recommendations or create and manage playlists. Except for the fact that it might get a bit laggy, especially if your connection is poor, there’s nothing to criticize.
Rdio is currently available in 61 countries and it’s a free, ad-supported streaming service. Unfortunately, it’s got serious competition from more popular names, like Pandora, Grooveshark, or Spotify, and I’m not yet entirely convinced that its advantages are good enough to actually make a difference. Anyway, this might be just my personal opinion, so you still should try it and see for yourself if this service suits your needs.
